Four people were shot inside a Brooklyn Center home early Wednesday in what police called a home invasion, and police said they were looking for four suspects.

Officers were called to the 5000 block of Drew Avenue N. about 3:15 a.m. When they arrived, they found three men and one woman with gunshot wounds. The victims were taken to a hospital and are expected to survive their injuries, said Cmdr. Tony Gruenig. One was released from the hospital later in the day.

Hours later, police were still looking for four adult males believed responsible for the shootings.

Authorities say the suspects searched the home and shot the victims before fleeing the residence. Gruenig said police dogs brought into the neighborhood were unable to track the suspects.

Gruenig said it is believed that the suspects and victims did not know each other.

By afternoon, there was no police presence in the neighborhood.

Police declined to release any further information. Brooklyn Center detectives and the Hennepin County crime lab are investigating.
