Summer Group Show 2015

Reception Saturday: In addition to showing off new work by the 11 artists it represents, Kolman & Pryor Gallery is throwing a summer fete that could be the high point of Northrup King Nights (5-10 p.m. Sat., Aug. 15), when 40 artists will open their studios to the public at the Northeast Minneapolis arts warehouse. The K&P 11 will tout their talents with mostly abstract paintings by Betsy Ruth Byers, Jim Dryden, Jil Evans, Farida Hughes, Patrick K. Pryor and Jodi Reeb; mixed-media creations by Kate Casanova; sculpture by Cameron Zebrun; ceramics by Ernest Miller and Kelly Jean Ohl; and assemblage and installation by Danny Saathoff. As if that weren't enough fun, the gallery is providing all the fixings for visitors to build their own ice cream sundaes. Elsewhere in the building, there will be movies, s'mores and fun activities. (Reception 7-10 p.m. Sat. Free. Show runs through Sept. 5 at noon-4 p.m. Saturdays and 5-9 p.m. Sept. 3. Northrup King Building, Studio 395, 1500 NE. Jackson St., Mpls. kolmanpryorgallery.com)
