A man shot by police Saturday morning at an Edina condo complex has been upgraded to serious but stable condition at Hennepin County Medical Center, a spokeswoman for the city of Edina said Sunday.
Details few in shooting of man by Edina police; condition upgraded
More than a day later, authorities have yet to explain what led to the shooting. Man's identity has yet to be released.
The man's name, age and address haven't been released. "I can't say," said Jennifer Bennerotte said.
The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident but would not release any new information Sunday. Spokeswoman Lisa Kiava said more information will be forthcoming in the coming days.
The state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is not involved in the investigation, a spokesperson said.
The shooting happened just after 10:30 a.m. Saturday inside a Windwood Condominiums unit in the 7500 block of Cahill Road. Officers had been sent to a welfare check on the man, who reportedly had been acting in a threatening manner, Bennerotte said Saturday.
The man apparently displayed a weapon – what type has not been released – before he was shot. No officers were injured.
