One person is dead and two were injured in a head-on collision Monday morning on Highway 4 in Meeker County, north of Cosmos.

State Patrol responded to at least seven accidents involving icy roads the West Central region of the state.
A car was going northbound on Highway 4 at 5:19 a.m. near County Road 37 when it crossed the centerline and collided with a Ford pickup that was going southbound, according to the State Patrol.
The driver of the pickup, 57-year-old Ralph Pearson, and a passenger, 58-year-old Connie Pearson, both of Grove City, were taken to a hospital with noncritical injuries, according to the State Patrol. The driver of the car was killed.
Highway 4 was temporarily shut down while emergency vehicles responded.
Meanwhile, the State Patrol responded to at least seven accidents involving frost on the roads in the West Central region of the state Monday morning.
"Drivers should get tuned in to winter driving this week," said Patrol spokeswoman Lt. Tiffani Schweigart.
Schweigart said icy conditions were a factor in a fatal car accident in Chanhassen Monday morning. At least one person is confirmed dead in the three-vehicle crash on eastbound Hwy. 212.
