The Minnesota Super Bowl Host Committee chose Dubbs & O'Meara, a local advertising agency, to handle promotion for events around the 2018 Super Bowl.

The committee, a nonprofit organization funded chiefly by local companies, is responsible for coordinating events around the game.

As media planning contractor, Dubbs & O'Meara will create a media calendar to map out advertising and promotion of those nongame events.

It will also use the committee's assets, such as promotions, to help negotiate sponsorships for the local activities. Another part of the assignment is to attract people to the NFL Experience, a 10-day theme park created in each host city as the Super Bowl game approaches.

"To be able to showcase Minnesota to an international audience of this caliber is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience," said Sue Dubbs, co-founder of the Plymouth-based agency.

"We felt Dubbs & O'Meara had the experience and expertise to best handle all of our media requirements," Wendy Blackshaw, the committee's senior vice president of marketing and sales, said in a statement.

Dubbs & O'Meara was founded in 1989, by Dubbs and Mame O'Meara. The company's clients have included the Minnesota Twins and the Minnesota Zoo.

"We are honored to have been selected by the MNSBHC for this historic opportunity," O'Meara said.
