Minneapolis Farmers Market
The big outdoor market, just west of downtown Minneapolis, doesn't let chilly temperatures stand in the way of commerce. During both days of November's first two weekends, the hours run 6 a.m. to 1 p.m., then drop to a shorter stretch (9 a.m.- noon) on Nov. 18 and 19. In December, the three-hour gatherings will continue on Dec. 2, 9 and 18. Looking ahead to 2018, the market will operate on the first and third Saturday of the month (9 a.m.-noon) through March, then switch it up slightly in April, convening on April 7 and 14.

Neighborhood Roots
The combined Fulton, Kingfield and Nokomis farmers markets gather periodically all winter (9 a.m.-1:30 p.m.) in the welcome warmth of the greenhouses at Bachman's Garden Center, starting on Nov. 12. In the new year, plan to connect on Jan. 27, Feb. 24 and March 24.

St. Paul Farmers Market
The Twin Cities' oldest farmers market sticks it out well into November: Saturday hours (6 a.m. -1 p.m.) continue through Nov. 18, and Sunday hours (8 a.m.-1 p.m.) run through Nov. 19. The market's be-sure-to-bundle-up winter edition convenes on Saturdays (9 a.m.-1 p.m.) starting Dec. 2 and going through April 21, 2018.
