Florida offensive lineman Corey Gaynor commits to Gophers

Corey Gaynor also had reported offers from Pittsburgh and West Virginia, among others.

Corey Gaynor, an offensive lineman from Florida, gave the Gophers a verbal commitment Thursday, picking Minnesota over reported offers from Pittsburgh, West Virginia, South Florida and Central Florida, among others.

The 6-4, 280-pound Gaynor attends Stoneman Douglas High School, in Parkland, Fla. The Gophers now have eight commitments for the Class of 2017, including two other offensive lineman -- Marshall's Blaise Andries and Robbinsdale Cooper's Eric Abojei.

Gaynor announced his commitment to Minnesota on Twitter.
