Former Vikings offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave will be calling plays again.

Musgrave was promoted from Broncos quarterbacks coach to offensive coordinator on Monday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, after Denver fired Mike McCoy.

The Broncos (3-7) are losers of six straight games, including a 20-17 home loss to Cincinnati on Sunday. He'll inherit an offense currently ranking 24th in points per game (18.3).

Musgrave, whose small play sheet drew intrigue, called plays during Adrian Peterson's historic 2012 season, which sent the Vikings to the playoffs. He spent three seasons in Minnesota, peaking at 14th in points per game in 2012 and 2013.
