Afro Deli in St. Paul welcomed a couple of guests of honor on Friday: U.S. Sen. Al Franken, D-Minn., and former late-night TV show host David Letterman.

The eatery, which specializes in casual fusion African, Mediterranean and American food, posted a grinning photo of the celebrities with its crew on Facebook.

"We love when old friends bring new ones," Afro Deli said in the post.

Also on Friday, State Rep. Ilhan Omar, DFL-Minneapolis, posted a photo of herself with Letterman and Franken, writing that they taped "a segment for [Letterman's] new Netflix documentary." It'll be out soon, she added.

In August, Netflix said Letterman would be doing a six-episode interview series next year.
