Preview: The Lynx close out their three-game road trip against the team with the best record in the league. The Lynx (3-5) used their best fourth quarter of the season — allowing a season-low 11 points — Thursday to rally for an 88-80 victory at Washington. Connecticut (6-1) is coming off an 88-86 victory at New York on Thursday. The Sun trailed by 13 at halftime before outscoring the Liberty 47-32 in the second half. The Lynx won two of three meetings with the Sun last season, including a 14-point victory in Connecticut.
Players to watch: Lynx C Sylvia Fowles recorded her sixth double-double of the season Thursday with 21 points and 12 rebounds. F Maya Moore scored 19 points Thursday — her sixth consecutive game with at least 15 points. G Tanisha Wright, playing in her 400th career game, had 13 points in 25 minutes. F Alyssa Thomas leads the Sun in scoring (14.1) and rebounding (10.6). G Jasmine Thomas is averaged 13.4 points and 5.3 assists per game. Former Gophers G Rachel Banham is averaging 4.7 points and 10.6 minutes per game.
Numbers: The Lynx trailed by 10 in the first quarter Thursday — the largest deficit they have overcome in a victory since rallying from a 10 point-deficit for an 87-82 victory over Chicago on July 5, 2016.
