Gophers women's basketball coach Marlene Stollings picked up a commitment Tuesday from four-star Detroit Country Day guard Destiny Pitts.

The 5-foot-10 senior from Detroit Country Day verbally committed Tuesday to play for Gophers women's basketball coach Marlene Stollings. Pitts is rated as the 59th best player in the 2017 class and No. 1 prospect in Michigan, according to ESPN.com.
Pitts, who was offered a scholarship by Michigan State her sophomore year, is the first player to join Minnesota's 2017 recruiting class.
Johnson’s record was 56-71 overall and 22-57 in Big Ten play, which included finishing 13th or lower in the conference three times.
