Two Minnesota legislators - Frank Hornstein (DFL) and Mark Uglem (R) - have teamed up to draft a bill that would prohibit drivers from using hand-held electronics while behind the wheel.

They will introduce the bill during an 11 a.m. Tuesday press conference in Room 181 of the State Office Building.

Their bill aimed at cutting down on distracted driving would still allow the use of hands-free electronic devices.

The legislation is similar to laws on the books in New York, California and Illinois. "We hope to add Minnesota to the list," Hornstein said.
