Minneapolis firefighters have rescued a man who fell 20 to 30 feet inside a grain elevator near the University of Minnesota Monday morning.

Officials with the Minneapolis Fire Department were called to the 500 block of 29th Avenue SE. around 4:30 a.m. and started a "technical rescue." They found a man who was trapped in a hole but was conscious. Rescue workers used a harness to pull the victim out, the department said in a series of tweets.

The victim reported a minor ankle injury, but was being evaluated by paramedics, the department said.

Few other details were immediately available.
