Authorities are investigating the Saturday morning death of a 19-year-old man at the Hennepin County workhouse in Plymouth.

Staff members were waking people up for breakfast and found Bearheart Buehlmann unresponsive. Paramedics were called, but he couldn't be revived, according to the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office.

The county medical examiner's office has not yet determined the cause and manner of Buehlmann's death.

According to state court records, Buehlmann was convicted of felony drug possession in October 2016 and ordered to attend a diversion program. But after several probation violations, he was sentenced in May to 180 days in the workhouse, with furloughs for job interviews if he wanted them.

The workhouse, which houses adult offenders for up to one year, had suspended visits and phone calls to its men's section on Monday in the wake of the incident, according to its website.
