Services are this week for a Minnesota man who was killed when a car going the wrong way struck his pickup truck head-on in eastern North Dakota, authorities said. Both drivers died in the wreck.

Anthony Cornelius, 31, who recently moved from Crane Lake to Hermantown, was heading east on Interstate 94 about 12 miles west of Valley City early Wednesday, when he collided with a car heading west in the eastbound lanes, according to the Highway Patrol.

Cornelius and the other driver, 35-year-old Kerseh Grupee, of Fargo, were taken to a hospital and died there, the patrol said. Cornelius' father, 53-year-old Timothy Cornelius, of Orr, Minn., was in the pickup truck and suffered minor injuries.

Authorities have yet to reveal the circumstances leading to the car being on the wrong side of the interstate around 12:20 a.m.

Cornelius is survived by his wife, Kristen Scott, and two children. The family had moved to Hermantown, where Cornelius worked as a welder for the Canadian National railroad.

Services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday at the American Legion in Orr, with a gathering of friends and family starting there at noon.
