A man critically injured in a north Minneapolis house fire on Tuesday has died, authorities said.

The victim, whose name has not been released, was pulled from an upper-level bedroom of a house on the 3600 block of Dupont Avenue N., according to fire officials.

Paramedics and firefighters performed resuscitation efforts on the victim, who was then hospitalized at Hennepin County Medical Center in critical condition, Assistant Fire Chief Bryan Tyner said.

The man died of his injuries on Wednesday, Tyner said.

The flames were extinguished within 15 minutes, and the blaze was largely contained to the room where it originated. The cause of the fire has been ruled accidental, Tyner said.

A second person in the house was able to get out unharmed, Tyner said.
