The Hennepin County Medical Examiner has identified the person shot to death Saturday in north Minneapolis as George Pineda.
Officers found Pineda, 18, of Minneapolis, unresponsive and lying on the ground when they arrived in the area of Webber Parkway and Lyndale Avenue N. around 3:18 a.m. Saturday. Paramedics later pronounced him dead.
Witnesses said a man shot the victim while he was lying on the ground and then fled on foot, according to police.
Police said they believe the shooting stemmed from a robbery. They did arrest a suspect.
