The woman killed in a Brooklyn Center hotel room over the weekend has been identified as an 18-year-old from St. Cloud.

Allie Marie Campbell died Saturday of a gunshot wound at the Quality Inn, 1600 James Circle N., the Hennepin County medical examiner's office said Tuesday.

Six people ages 19 to 23 were booked Sunday into the Hennepin County jail on suspicion of murder in connection with the case.

On Tuesday, police Cmdr. Richard Gabler said five of the six have been released from jail as the investigation presses forward. All six remain suspects in the shooting death, Gabler said.

The 20-year-old man who remained in jail was being held in connection with a first-degree assault case.

Three of the suspects are from Brooklyn Park, two are from Brooklyn Center and one is from Crystal. They were arrested at traffic stops, Gabler said.

The shooting was reported to police about 8:45 p.m. Saturday. The woman was declared dead at the scene, police said.

"Brooklyn Center police do not believe this to be a random crime and are not currently seeking additional suspects," police said Sunday.

A gun was seized, but Gabler said it's not known whether it's the firearm used in the shooting.

According to audio from law enforcement dispatch, a hotel worker found the victim on the floor of the room.

The hotel is north of Interstate 694, east of Shingle Creek Parkway and across the street from the Twin Cities offices of the FBI.
