Logan Morrison recovering, but he's out of Twins' lineup today and tomorrow

The Twins have several regulars in their lineup against Tampa Bay as they return from a day off. Logan Morrison, who has a strained glute, could be back playing on Sunday.

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. — Paul Molitor saw Logan Morrison in the trainer's room this morning, and the Twins' new DH assured him that the soreness in his strained right gluteal muscle has improved.

That's good news for the Twins, though Molitor remains cautious. If the Twins' trainers clear Morrison to return, the manager said he will likely leave him out of the lineup for an extra day, which has always been Molitor's informal policy.

Meanwhile, Phil Hughes and Stephen Gonsalves both threw simulated games at Twins' camp, working on sharpening their pitches. In Hughes' case, the Twins want him to throw sliders and changeups in order to better incorporate them into his normal repertoire. Molitor said he hadn't received a report yet, but he expects both to throw in Grapefruit League games the next time out.
