A man shot several times Sunday in north Minneapolis has died, police said Tuesday.
Michael Polk, 32, of Minneapolis, and another man were found in a car at 4:30 p.m. Sunday in the 3500 block of Penn Avenue N. Polk had been shot several times, including at least once in the head. He was rushed into surgery at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale.
Polk was taken off life support on Tuesday.
A second shooting victim suffered injuries that weren't life threatening and is hospitalized at North Memorial, according to police spokesman Corey Schmidt.
Police have not yet announced any arrests. Polk's death was the city's 19th homicide of 2016.
Meanwhile, a female victim was taken to North Memorial after another shooting near Colfax and 41st Avenue N. just before 5 p.m. Tuesday, according to police. Her condition was not yet known Tuesday evening.
The officers who responded to the call came from the Minneapolis police special operations training center, located around the corner from the scene.
