Xcel Energy Center and Target Center each announced 2018 concerts with Top 40 hitmakers on Thursday.
MAROON 5 (Sept. 18, Xcel Center): Touring at the arena level again ever since singer Adam Levine became doubly known as a coach on NBC's "The Voice," the Los Angeles pop-rockers will play the St. Paul arena about halfway through their U.S. tour behind an album that arrives next week, "Red Pill Blues." Tickets go on sale Nov. 4 at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster and the arena box office for $50-$150. Iowa-bred singer/songwriter Julia Michaels, who co-wrote Justin Bieber's "Sorry" and several other hits, will open the show. Michaels is also due at the X as part of the KDWB Jingle Ball on Dec. 4.
DEMI LOVATO and DJ KHALED (March 10, Target Center): Former Disney Channel TV star turned chart-topper Lovato also has a new album to tour behind, "Tell Me You Love Me," which debuted at No. 1 in Billboard two weeks ago riding the buzz of its first single "Sorry Not Sorry." That's now her 11th Top 40 hit at the age of 25, after other big ones including "Really Don't Care," "Cool for the Summer" and "Skyscraper." She was last seen in town at the Minnesota State Fair in 2016.
New to the touring circuit but certainly not an unknown, DJ Khaled is the man behind the Justin Bieber-led No. 1 hit "I'm the One" as well as the Rhianna/Bryson Tiller steamer "Wild Thoughts" and the Drake-accompanied "For Free." Tickets for their show go on sale Nov. 3 at 10 a.m. via AXS.com or the box office at the newly refurbished Minneapolis arena.
