Minnesota United could field the same starting 11 for the first time

In eight matches so far, the Loons have put together a different lineup every time. That could change Saturday against San Jose.

Just a quick update from Minnesota United FC practice Friday ahead of the 7 p.m. Saturday kick against the San Jose Earthquakes at TCF Bank Stadium.

Everyone (minus the long-term injured and loaned) was present and accounted for at training, including left-back Marc Burch, winger Kevin Molino and midfielder Rasmus Schuller, who have all been dealing with injuries. Coach Adrian Heath said both Burch and Molino are fine, while Schuller is still a work in progress.

"I don't think he's going to be right, so we might leave him, with the fact that he's not starting," Heath said. "We will give him more time to recover."

So with all the starters from last weekend's 1-0 win against the Colorado Rapids looking healthy, this might be the first time all season United will field a repeat starting 11. In the eight matches so far, the Loons have used a different lineup each time, with the tweaks in the most recent matches to the left wing and holding midfield.

Otherwise, practice Friday was the usual light-and-fun atmosphere per usual the day before a match. Here's a quick video that shows how Heath's still got it. He and assistant coach Ian Fuller ended up winning this round of foot-golf (they usually do, to be fair).
