Friday

Andrew Wiggins showed why he's the runaway choice for rookie of the year by scoring 22 points and winning the MVP award in the World's 121-112 victory over USA in the Rising Stars Game on Friday night. Wiggins hit eight of his 11 shots and added six rebounds. Story, C5

Saturday

LaVine is considered the favorite heading into the NBA's slam-dunk contest that is part of All-Star Saturday (6:30-10 p.m., TNT). The other slam-dunk participants are Victor Oladipo of Orlando, Giannis Antetokounmpo of Milwaukee and Mason Plumlee of Brooklyn.

Sunday

The All-Star Game is always a big event for the league (7 p.m. TNT), but it's even bigger when it's played at Madison Square Garden. The last time the game was played at the Garden, in 1998, Michael Jordan was the MVP and Kevin Garnett scored 12 points in his second All-Star Game.
