Buffalo Wild Wings Inc. on Wednesday unveiled a new logo emphasizing its "wings, beer, sports" theme, and said it plans to refresh its restaurants' design to give them more of a "stadium" feel.

The Golden Valley-based company, one of the nation's fastest-growing restaurant chains, said it's making the changes after more than a year of research.

The company's logo will retain its distinctive winged buffalo framed in yellow and black but will dump the "Grill & Bar" moniker below the "Buffalo Wild Wings" name. The restaurant name itself will be in larger, bolder type, embellished with the phrase "Wings. Beer. Sports."

And the new buffalo, according to the company, is more "muscular and athletic." The redesign of the company's restaurants, which have a sports bar motif, will be unveiled later this year.

Buffalo Wild Wings, founded in 1982, has 835 restaurants that span most of the country.
