OAKLAND, CALIF. – Klay Thompson scored 27 points, including a key layup with 4.1 seconds left, and the Golden State Warriors overcame Kevin Durant's calf injury to beat the Houston Rockets 104-99 on Wednesday night for a 3-2 lead in the Western Conference semifinals.

Durant strained his right calf late in the third quarter. The two-time reigning NBA Finals MVP limped to the locker room after landing awkwardly following a baseline jumper. He finished with 22 points, five rebounds and four assists. Durant was averaging 35.4 points in the playoffs coming into the game.

Thompson made half of his 10 three-point attempts in addition to his crucial basket at the end of the game. Steph Curry added 25 points for the Warriors, making only nine of 23 shots from the field.

James Harden scored 31 points and had eight assists for the Rockets, who rallied back from a 57-43 halftime deficit and will try to stave off elimination back home in Houston in Game 6 on Friday night. Houston's PJ Tucker had a double-double, with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
