Burns, Thomas C. age 67, of Mpls, passed away in Bisbee, AZ, November 23, 2020. Survived by daughter, Jerusha Steinert (Jon), granddaughter Roslyn Steinert, brother James (Butch) Burns, sisters Deborah (Robert) Mediger and Pauline (Curt) Holz; many aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Preceded in death by his parents James and Betty (Seeker) Burns. Tom graduated from Wayzata High School in 1971 and quickly found his calling in life pursuing music. He was a talented harmonica player and lived for playing the Blues. He became known as 'one of the greats' on the West Bank music scene among fellow musicians and fans alike. He played in many bands throughout his over 50 year career: Lazy Bill Lucas, The Joel Johnson Band and Mississippi Driftwood. He created 3 cds and played with many acclaimed artists during live performances. Tom had a keen sense of adventure and enjoyed traveling the country to play his music. He also loved living on the Minnesota River in his house boat. Tom had an infectious laugh and was an avid storyteller. A celebration of life for Tom will be planned in 2021 when we can all get together and enjoy music how he would have wanted.
