Callahan, Edward Joseph Jr. "Ed" Age 94 of Wayzata on June 2, 2017 Edward Joseph Callahan was born on July 2, 1922, in Lewiston, ME to Edward and Pauletta (Smith) Callahan. He is survived by his four children, Katherine Harder of Richmond, VA, Edward J Callahan of Steamboat Springs, CO, Margaret Wyman (Steven) of Denver, CO, Colin Callahan (Jeanine) of Oak Hill, VA, and his four grandchildren, Sarah Wyman, Christian Harder, Anthony Callahan, and Jordan Callahan. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Greenwaldt Callahan and son-in-law, Shepard Harder. Ed graduated from The Blake Schools (1939), Georgetown University in Washington DC (1943), and Harvard University Law School (1949). He served in The United States Navy from 1943-1946. After practicing law with his father, he joined the firm of Gray, Plant, Mooty practicing well into his eighties. As a public servant, he served several terms on the Orono Planning Commission and as Mayor of Orono from 1993-1996. He was devoted to the Catholic Church and was a member of The Knights of Malta. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 13, at 11:00 am at Gill Brothers Chapel, 5801 Lyndale Ave So, with a Visitation before mass at 10:00 am. Private internment to follow.
