Robert R. Hosokawa

Hosokawa, Robert R. 95, died July 26, 2014, in Dallas, TX. Hosokawa, a retired journalist and college professor was born in Seattle, WA Sept. 15, 1918. He was graduated from Whitman College, Walla Walla, WA, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, in 1940. He was interned in a U.S. government interment camp during World War 2. Following his release in 1942 he enjoyed a long and successful career as a newspaper editor and public relations executive in Mpls., MN. In his later years he was a professor of journalism at the University of Missouri, Columbia, and the University of Central Florida (UCF), Orlando. Hosokawa was preceded in death by his wife, Yoshi, in 1997. He is survived by a daughter, Mary Sue Brown of Dallas, TX; by a son, David, of Great Barrington, MA; four grandchildren and one great grandchild. Memorials may be sent to Robert R.
