'Conference of the Birds'

Opening: Pangea World Theater celebrates its 20th year with a new staging of its first-ever production. Playwright Meena Natarajan adapted the 12th-century Persian poem into a play directed by Dipankar Mukherjee. "We chose 'Conference of the Birds' to convey our message of the power of multiplicity and unity," said Mukherjee. The story involves a group of birds that journey to find a king and end up discovering a truth about themselves. A cast of 11 performs the show. Sandra Agustin choreographs.
