Pelicans' Anthony Davis out tonight vs. Wolves

The same Anthony Davis who went for 59 points and 20 rebounds six days ago hurt his foot in pre-game warmups tonight, the Pelicans said.

Just six days after he went for 59 points and 20 rebounds at Detroit, Pelicans star Anthony Davis has been scratched from tonight's 6 p.m. game against the Wolves in New Orleans.

The Pelicans announced Davis sustained a right foot injury in pre-game warmups tonight. Davis said after Thursday's home victory over Oklahoma City that he came down wrong on a knee late in that game but said he stayed in the game after walking the injury off and said he was fine afterward.

The Pelicans will start Ryan Anderson at forward instead and they're also getting Eric Gordon back in the starting lineup after he has missed the last 16 games because of a fractured finger.

For the Wolves, Zach LaVine goes back into the starting lineup at shooting guard tonight.

One more thing:

Kevin Martin is still a Wolf -- he was working out before tonight's game and getting ready to suit up in the locker room -- but it doesn't look he'll be for much better. I fully expect him to be bought out of his contract by Tuesday night so he can signed with a playoff team.

No word yet on if the Wolves will sign a player or players -- a big one preferably -- but Sam Mitchell said Friday the team is in need of one with Nemanja Bjelica, Kevin Garnett and Nikola Pekovic all injured.

And by the way, Andre Miller cleared waivers this afternon after the Wolves bought him out on Thursday and is signing with San Antonio.
