Southern Minnesota collision kills motorcyclist

A motorcycle and minivan collided Sunday morning at the intersection of Hwy. 63 and Mower County Road 1 in Racine, Minn., killing the motorcycle driver and critically injuring the passenger.

The crash, which happened at 9 a.m., shut down a portion of Hwy. 63 for several hours.

Motorcyclist Donald Jordan, 42, died at the scene, while passenger Serena Jordan, 46, was taken by helicopter to St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. The pair, from Stewartville, Minn., were not wearing helmets.

The Dodge Caravan's driver, Marlys Sivesind, 49, suffered noncritical injuries while passenger David Sivesind, 52, suffered no apparent injuries. Marlys Sivesind was taken to St. Marys Hospital. The Sivesinds are from Grand Meadow, Minn.
