Why Benilde-St. Margaret's will win: Junior attackman Eric Weber would love a repeat of the first half of the semifinals in which the Red Knights built a 6-1 lead. "We were not playing timid at all," said Weber, who scored twice. "We were in our sets, everyone was moving and getting touches. That's when we're playing our best lacrosse."
Why Eagan will win: Wildcats coach Bob Felter believes his team possesses the elements critical to success. "When I start a lacrosse team I want a good goalie probably first and foremost, and a good faceoff guy, and I've got both of those guys," Felter said. And don't forget Eagan's overwhelming transition game.
Key to watch: Benilde-St. Margaret's defense must hinder Eagan's ability to get up and down the field fast. The Red Knights held all but three opponents to nine or fewer goals. Eagan hit double-digits in all but one game.
Did you know? Eagan makes its first championship game appearance while Benilde-St. Margaret's returns for the first time since winning the 2011 title. Motivational slogans drive both teams. Eagan, despite holding the top seed, wants to "Make them believe." For the Red Knights, "Restore the Order" helped sharpen their focus on getting back to the state tournament for the first time in six years.
