Sophia Yoemans of Red Wing shot a final round 2-over-par 74 on Friday to win the Girls Minnesota Junior PGA Championship at Bunker Hills.

Yoemans shot a two-day 4-over 148 and earned a berth in the Junior PGA Championship, which will be July 18-21 at the Country Club of St. Albans (Mo.).

"I was hitting the ball really well the past two days, but my putting was not good," Yoemans said. "I was super frustrated, but I hung in there and made pars. My chipping really helped and kept me going."

Yoemans finished four shots ahead of Olivia Peterson, Leah Herzog and Megan Welch. Herzog, a high school teammate of Yoemans at Red Wing, won a three-person playoff and earned the second Junior PGA qualifying spot.
