Before the Vikings' game at Washington, my notion was Case Keenum would be the starting quarterback for at least two games — barring injury — before the Vikings might consider making a switch to Teddy Bridgewater. The idea was that Keenum would have had to lose and play poorly against Washington and the Rams next week in order for a move to be made.
In racking up 304 yards and four touchdown passes Sunday — almost all the damage done as the Vikings built a 35-17 lead early in the second half — Keenum bought himself some more time. Not even a pair of interceptions later that helped Washington get closer in an eventual 38-30 Vikings win should count too much against Keenum.
Let's figure he earned at least two more starts — home against the Rams, then at Detroit. This five-game winning streak might have earned him more than that, but two more games should be the minimum.
