Riley Alferd, Austin Ortega and David Pope scored goals, and Omaha limited No. 16 North Dakota 22 shots in a 3-0 victory Saturday night in Grand Forks, N.D., that gave the Mavericks a series split.

The result left the Fighting Hawks (16-14-3, 9-12-1-1 NCHC) tied with the Mavericks (16-13-5, 9-11-2) for fourth in the league standings with two games to play.

Denver 7, St. Cloud State 2: Liam Finlay had a hat trick and the host and No. 1 Pioneers (24-6-4, 16-3-3 NCHC) scored four second-period goals against the No. 18 Huskies (15-16-1, 9-12-1).

Penn State 4, Michigan State 1: Nate Sucese scored two of the three first-period goals for the Nittany Lions (20-8-2, 9-6-2), who completed a series sweep in East Lansing, Mich. Villiam Haag scored for the Spartans (6-21-3, 2-12-2).

Michigan 1, Ohio State 0: Nick Pastujov's goal midway through the first period held up for the Wolverines (8-17-3, 3-11-2). The Buckeyes (17-9-6, 8-7-1-1) outshot Michigan 42-23, including 20-7 in the final period, but suffered their first home shutout loss in five years.

Minnesota State Mankato 2, Bemidji State 1: The Mavericks (19-11-4, 15-9-4-2) got goals from Zeb Knutson and Zach Stepan 4½ minutes apart in the second period vs. the host Beavers (20-13-3, 20-6-2).
