Mickey Eyssimont scored two goals, one on a power play, as second-ranked St. Cloud State beat visiting North Dakota 3-1 on Saturday night in NCHC hockey. The Huskies got all of their goals in the first 8½ minutes of the second period to go up 3-0. Robby Jackson scored the first at 2:09 and then Eyssimont got his goal one minute apart.

Cole Smith got the lone goal for No. 5 UND with one second left in the middle period. The teams tied 2-2 in the series opener.

No. 17 Minnesota Duluth 6, Omaha 2: Riley Tufte had two goals and linemates Joey Anderson and Peter Krieger had three-point nights as the Bulldogs routed the host Mavericks. Anderson had a goal and two assists, Krieger three assists. Hunter Shepard stopped 26 shots for UMD, Alex Blankenburg 20 for Omaha, which won the first game of the series 7-5.

Big Ten

No. 4 Notre Dame 6, No. 12 Wisconsin 2: Cal Burke had a hat trick as the visiting Irish completed a sweep of the Badgers at the Kohl Center. Burke scored a goal in each period. His first goal on a power play gave Notre Dame a 1-0 lead, his second put the Irish ahead 3-2 and came unassisted. His third goal of the game — and 12th of the season — made the score 5-2. The Irish won the first game 3-2, rallying from two goals down.

No. 18 Penn State 7, Robert Morris 1: Dennis Smirnov, a sophomore Russian forward, had two goals and assists and linemate Nate Sucese had two goals and one assist as the Nittany Lions routed the Colonials in Pittsburgh.

WCHA

No. 8 Minnesota State Mankato 7, Lake Superior State 0: Forward Parker Tuomie and defenseman Ian Scheid each scored twice as the visiting Mavericks defeated the Lakers. Shots were 44-13 in MSU Mankato's favor.

Northern Mich. 4, Bemidji State 4 (OT): Myles Fitzgerald's power-play goal for the Beavers with 5:50 left in the third period tied the score at 4-all. Officially the game will be called a tie, but the Wildcats won the shootout 1-0 for an extra point in the conference standings.
