Forces beyond the Gophers baseball team's control have led to one crazy finish to the regular season.
The Gophers were originally scheduled to play single games against Purdue on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at Siebert Field, but Thursday's game was suspended after 7 ½ innings because of a power outage, and Saturday's game was moved to Friday because of expected inclement weather.
That means the Gophers will attempt to complete one game and squeeze in two others Friday.
It will all start at noon, with the completion of Thursday's game. The Boilermakers lead 5-2. The second game of the series is scheduled for 2 p.m. and the third for 6:30 p.m.
The Gophers (32-17, 14-6) are trying to clinch their second straight Big Ten regular-season title with Nebraska (32-18-1, 14-7-1) and Michigan (40-13, 14-8) right on their heels.
Nebraska lost at Penn State 8-7 on Thursday while Michigan lost at Michigan State 6-1 to begin their three-game series.
