Senior co-captain Baylee Wellhausen scored 92 seconds into overtime to lift the No. 1 Wisconsin women's hockey team to a 2-1 victory over the No. 6 Gophers on Sunday before an announced 1,178 at Ridder Arena.

Sidney Peters made 25 saves for the Gophers (5-4-1, 4-3-1 WCHA), who got their goal from Grace Zumwinkle. But Wellhausen's goal gave the Badgers (12-0, 6-0) their first sweep of the Gophers since the 2006-07 season and only their fourth road sweep ever in the Border Battle rivalry.

"I am really, really proud of our kids," Gophers coach Brad Frost said. "Once again, it was anybody's game. We just did so many great things, the battle and the compete of our players, the desire that they had to win that hockey game — that is everything we want from them."

Alexis Mauermann scored 9 minutes, 33 seconds into the second period for Wisconsin, but Zumwinkle tied it only 1:16 later with her fifth power-play goal of the season.

In OT, Wellhausen ended it by scoring on a 2-on-1 off a pass from Abby Roque.

"It's exhilarating, honestly," Wellhausen said. "We came into this weekend just wanting to sweep the Gophers."
