Gophers defenseman Megan Bozek was named WCHA women's defensive player of the week this morning after getting three points, a goal and two assists, in a split at North Dakota. Bozek is a sophomore from Buffalo Grove, Ill.
The Gophers play host to Ohio State in the first round of the WCHA women's playoff this weekend at Ridder Arena. Game times are 6 p.m. Friday, 5 p.m. Saturday and, if necessary, 4 p.m. Sunday.
UMD winger Pernilla Winberg was the offensive player of the week after getting five goals and three assists in a sweep of St. Cloud State. The sophomore from Malmo, Sweden, had 18 shots in the series.
Wisconsin center Madison Packer was freshman of the week after getting a hat trick against Minnesota State.
