Washington, D.C. – The high-scoring Washington Mystics had won five games in a row and were coming off a 100-point game.

But the Eastern Conference leaders were no match for the Minnesota Lynx, especially with Elena Delle Donne out with an injury.

Sylvia Fowles scored 21 points and had 11 rebounds, and four teammates also reached double figures as the Lynx routed the Mystics 98-73. Minnesota is 8-0, Washington 6-3.

Lindsay Whalen, who only took three shots and had two points, became the winningest player in WNBA history. She played in her 295th win in 13 seasons to move ahead of Swin Cash.

With her teammates shooting well — 53.4 percent for the game — Whalen was content to set them up. She had six assists, tying Maya Moore for the game high.

The Lynx had 30 assists on 40 baskets and committed only eight turnovers — one in the first half.

"Our offense was really good," Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve said. "It kind of kept [the Mystics] from getting into the pace they want to play at. They want to fly up the floor, try to get to the foul line and shoot threes, and I thought our offense really kept them out of that in the first half."

Rebbekah Brunson and Moore each had 17 points for the Lynx, Seimone Augustus 14 and reserve Renee Montgomery 13.

"We don't feel like we have one player that has to carry the team," Fowles said. "And when we're open, we're open and, if we're not, we make it our business to pass and get our teammates involved."

The Mystics, second in the league with an 84.5-point average, missed Delle Donne (20.6 ppg); she has a left groin strain. Tayler Hill led Washington with 20 points.
