Eden Prairie rallied to force overtime and then defeated Minnetonka 78-74 in a second extra period in the Class 4A, Section 2 quarterfinals in boys' basketball Wednesday night.

The third-seeded Eagles trailed by as many as 12 points early in the second half, but went on an 8-0 run with just under 12 minutes left in regulation to get close. The two teams went back and forth, including a layup by Minnetonka's Jalen Dearring with 7.3 seconds left in the fourth.

Will Pahl led the Eagles with 24 points. Austin Andrews had 22 points, Owen Chose 15 and Kyler Kluge 11 for Eden Prairie.

Burt Hedstrom had 23 points, Dearring 20 and Jon Martens 16 for Minnetonka.

Cooper 82, Armstrong 74: Beijan Newbern scored 19 points to lead the Hawks to an upset of the Class 4A, No. 9 Falcons in a Section 6 quarterfinal. Nathan Hill had 18 points for the Hawks. Race Thompson scored 33 points for the Falcons.

Champlin Park 105, Irondale 66: Theo John scored 35 points to lead the Class 4A, No. 1 Rebels past the Knights in a Section 5 quarterfinal. McKinley Wright had 18 points, Brian Smith 12, Bennett Otto and Marcus Hill 11 each and Josiah Strong 10 for the Rebels. Sean Sutherlin led Irondale with 21 points. Sonam Paichang had 16 and Jordi Pacheco-Ramirez 12 for the Knights.

Edina 75, Prior Lake 69: Walt McGrory scored 26 points to lead the Hornets past the Lakers in a Class 4A, Section 2 quarterfinal. Anders Nelson had 21 points for the Hornets. Jacob Fredrickson led the Lakers with 25 points while Brian Sitzmann had 20 and Alex Preston 11.

Bloomington Jefferson 45, Chanhassen 41: The second-seeded Jaguars finished on a 7-1 run over the last 3:17 to defeat the Storm in a Class 4A, Section 2 quarterfinal. Tyler Riemersma scored 16 points to lead the Jaguars and Joe Hird had 13. Henry Weisman led Chanhassen with 10 points.
