Woeful Avs are 2-1 against Wild

Preview: The fact the Avalanche, despite Minnesota's 4-10-2 record in March, is still 24 wins and 53 points behind the Wild tells you everything you need to know about Colorado's dismal season. The worst team in the NHL went 4-12 in March, including seven consecutive losses before beating St. Louis in a shootout on Friday. But the Avs are 2-1 against Minnesota. The rivals haven't met since a 2-0 Wild victory on Dec. 20. The Wild is 9-3-1 in its past 13 games against Colorado, outscoring the Avs 37-17 and outshooting them 444-331. Six of the wins were shutouts.

Players to watch: Wild G Devan Dubnyk is expected to start for the first time since Tuesday. He's 1-8-1 in his past 11 starts and is 2-7-2 with a 3.31 goals-against average and .871 save percentage since March 7. LW Zach Parise has 13 goals and 30 points in 27 all-time games vs. Colorado. C Mikko Koivu has 41 points in 62 games vs. the Avs. Colorado LW Gabriel Landeskog leads the Avalanche with 18 points in 27 games against the Wild. C Matt Duchene has 18 points in 37 meetings.

Numbers: The Avs rank 30th with 1.96 goals per game, 30th with 3.35 goals against per game and 30th with a 12.8 percent power play. … This is the Wild's 14th and final back-to-back. The Wild is 5-7-3 on the second day of those situations. … Minnesota's 103 points against Colorado all-time is its second most against any franchise.

Injuries: Wild LW Jason Zucker (lower body) is questionable. Avalanche G Semyon Varlamov (groin) and D Nikita Zadorov (ankle) are out.
