Glitz at the Galleria
Silver and gold really shine at the new home furnishings store in the Galleria. Z Gallerie offers beds, bedding, furniture, accessories and a gallery of artwork, as well as a huge assortment of silver and gold home decor.
Room vignettes showcase a variety of design styles — from sleek and modern to luxe Hollywood Regency, with lots of reflective finishes. Other collections evoke a more relaxed, casual aesthetic. "We have everything from chandeliers down to area rugs," said Nic Sims, a manager for the California-based retailer.
Ready to embrace Pantone's Color of the Year? There's plenty of Ultra Violet-hued accessories to choose from. In fact, color-coded walls of Mongolian wool pillows, candleholders, vases, table runners and other pieces make it easy to zero in on a palette.
"A lot of today's floor plans are open," said Sims. "You can pull pieces and colors from each vignette to tie it all together."
A dining bay displays glam sparkly dinnerware and stemware for "entertaining the queen," said Sims. The store's 6-foot-tall faux palm trees, fiddle leaf fig and aspen trees can easily fill a corner — but require no care.
Z Gallerie offers a more moderate price point than the recently opened Design Within Reach. Side chairs are $299 and up, mirrored table lamps from $199, vanity mirrors from $250, and sofas start at $1,500. Framed art ranges from $50 to $900. You can register for a $1,000 gift card at the store through April 1. Z Gallerie is in the new east wing by Cov Restaurant and Starbucks.

Floral spring fling
Miss the Macy's spring flower show? Bachman's has partnered with the Galleria to stage "Spring Is in the Air," a floor-to-ceiling floral experience that runs the length of the shopping center from March 25 through April 8.
