Numerous brands have honored the life of Prince after his sudden death yesterday, mostly by incorporating the color purple into their logos. However, one company that is forever linked to the Minnesota legend's music offered a special tribute in this morning's print editions of the Star Tribune, the New York Times and other newspapers.

Chevrolet, the maker of the classic American sports car immortalized in one of Prince's biggest hits, "Little Red Corvette," took out a sparse, full-page color ad in the newspapers with a play on the song's lyrics. Check it out:
The automaker also posted a version of the image to its Twitter account last night. The post has been retweeted more than 8,000 times:
