Two people died on Minnesota roads in separate crashes early Tuesday.

The first crash occurred around 12:45 a.m. in Swift County, according to the State Patrol. Dalton E. Schmidt, 27, of Appleton, Minn., was driving north on Hwy. 119 when he ran a stop sign and hit a semitrailer truck broadside as it headed west on Hwy. 12.
Schmidt died at the scene. He was not wearing his seat belt.
The truck driver suffered minor injuries. Alcohol does not appear to have been a factor in the collision.
Tanner Goodrich, 26, of Delavan, Minn., died in a single-vehicle crash in Faribault County around 5:15 a.m. Goodrich was westbound on Hwy. 109 when the 1968 Chevrolet was driving veered off the road into a driveway and rolled several times. The car had been stolen in Nebraska, the patrol said. An investigation is underway.
The governor said it may be 2027 or 2028 by the time the market catches up to demand.
