The Traveler: Vicki K. Anderson of Burnsville.

The scene: The Crystal Bay area of Lake Tahoe, on the Nevada side of the lake, shines in the sun. "This photo really shows the beauty of the lake," Anderson wrote in an e-mail, "the mountains reflected in the water, the large beautiful pine trees, the rock formations, the crystal clear water around the edge of the lake, and all those different blues!"

The trip: Anderson and her husband celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary by vacationing at Lake Tahoe in October. They were there for six days and divided their time between the North and South Lake Tahoe areas.

About the destination: "Crystal Bay and Emerald Bay were my favorite spots along the lake," Anderson wrote. She noted that there are many parks, walking trails and places to rent kayaks, stand-up paddleboards and bicycles and that in Nevada, there are casinos.

How she got the shot: Anderson used the panorama setting on her iPhone 6s to get this photo, which has been cropped slightly. "I just happened to be there at the right time. The sun was shining, and no one was on the lake," she wrote.
