Vikings sign speedy CFL receiver Terrell Sinkfield to reserve/future deal

The Vikings have signed speedy CFL wide receiver Terrell Sinkfield.

The Minnetonka native spent the past two years in the Canadian Football League. He caught 69 passes for 1,030 yards and six touchdowns in his breakout 2015 season. He also rushed for 132 yards on 28 attempts.

Before heading north of the border, the former Northern Iowa wideout had stints with the Dolphins, Packers, Bills and Giants, but could not stick.

The 6-foot-1 wide receiver was timed in the 40-yard dash at 4.19 seconds during the University of Minnesota's pro day in 2013. Sinkfield was also clocked at 4.30 seconds during Northern Iowa's pro day that year.

The 25-year-old, who signed a reserve/future contract, will compete for a roster spot during spring workouts then, if he hangs around, training camp.

The Vikings showed interest in another standout CFL wideout named Eric Rogers, but he signed with the 49ers after visiting the Vikings and others.
