The move also leaves them with three quarterbacks on the roster heading into Thursday's preseason finale against Tennessee.

The Viking announced this morning that they have waived quarterback Mike Kafka, who did not practice yesterday, with an injured designation.

Kafka has played sparingly this preseason. He went 7-for-10 for 66 yards and a touchdown against the Steelers in the Hall of Fame Game. Since then, he has thrown just three passes, completing two of them for nine yards.

The move gets the Vikings down to 75 players before today's deadline.

The move also leaves them with three quarterbacks on the roster heading into Thursday's preseason finale. With Teddy Bridgewater not expected to play and backup Shaun Hill possibly being held out, too, we should see rookie Taylor Heinicke for most, if not all, of the Titans game.

Heinicke has completed 30 of his 41 preseason pass attempts for 237 yards with one interception. He is trying to convince the Vikings to carry a third QB. If not, the former Old Dominion standout is a practice squad candidate.
