This is the second apparent drowning in Douglas County in the past 10 days.
The body of Glenn C. Steffen, 61, of South St. Paul, was discovered by emergency responders shortly after 10 p.m. Monday on the eastern shore of Lake Andrew, about 5 miles southwest of Alexandria, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.
Steffen's family told authorities that he left about 3:30 p.m. on a boat to go fishing and was expected back by 5:30 p.m. or so. When Steffen hadn't returned by 7:30 p.m., family members checked the lake and found the boat empty.
They called 911, and searchers found Steffen late in the evening, the Sheriff's Office said.
This is the second apparent drowning in the county in the past 10 days. On June 11, the body of Scott Gagner, 55, of Miltona, was pulled from 6 feet of water in Lake Miltona, roughly 12 miles north of Alexandria.
