Mavericks arrive first in a series of visitors

Preview: The Wolves have alternated wins and losses over the past 10 games. Now they start a five-game homestand. After winning four of six games, Dallas has lost two straight, including 109-102 at Milwaukee on Friday. The Wolves have won both games vs. Dallas this season — by 13 at home on Nov. 4 and by 14 on Nov. 17 in Dallas.

Players to watch: Wolves G Jimmy Butler is shooting 43-for-81 (53.1 percent) in his past five games. F Taj Gibson is averaging 16.7 points and 10 rebounds in his past three games. G Jeff Teague has averaged 13.0 points and 10 assists in two games vs. Dallas. Dallas guard Wes Matthews is coming off an 11-for-15, 29-point performance in Milwaukee on Friday. F Harrison Barnes leads the Mavericks in scoring (18.5) and rebounding (7.6). Former Wolves G J.J. Barea is averaging 11.9 points and a team-best 5.4 assists off the bench.

Numbers: The Wolves have won three straight and four of the past five vs. Dallas, a streak that came after the Mavericks won seven straight.

Injuries: Wolves C Justin Patton is playing in the G League; F Nemanja Bjelica (left midfoot sprain) is questionable. Dallas G Seth Curry (left leg), F Dorian Finney-Smith (quad), F/C Josh McRoberts (lower extremity), F/C Nerlens Noel (left thumb) and G Dennis Smith, Jr. (left hip) are out.
